These cards record information regarding persons who were nominated or sponsored to immigrate to Queensland between and , and also serve as indexes for two series of files regarding nominated immigrants: Items - provide an index to Series Files Concerning Intending Migrants and Migrants who Arrived in Queensland, , and Items - provide an index to Series Personal Files for Nominated Immigrants, Please note that these indexes are incomplete and they do not cover all immigrant files in Series Cards also exist for persons who made inquiries about immigration to Queensland, rejected applicants, applicants who returned to their country of origin etc.
Other details may include occupation of spouse; whether the relevant file has been destroyed details recorded on the back of the card ; other information relating to the nominee's settlement in Queensland such as initial government accommodation or first address in Queensland. Some cards contain only the name of the applicant and the file number. Only a handful of the cards in consignment 3 have information about nominators. The information contained in these cards is mostly duplicated in the Card Index to Nominators RSI which is arranged alphabetically by nominator.
