Sort order. Jan 22, Rich rated it it was amazing. Excellent book. Lays out in simple terms a complex procedure I love my new wheels! Sep 29, Josh rated it liked it. Could separate theory, concepts, and physics from the procedure. Unsure why sometimes a single or two options were presented.
Are there not more ways to conceptualize these ideas? Are there not more materials? Possibly, wheels building is well standardized.
Dec 17, Jim rated it it was amazing Shelves: how-to. Great how to guide! This is how I learned to build wheels. Schraner has a real simple lacing pattern and a very efficient process for building wheels. When I worked at a bike shop, this book was passed around, and we all used his lacing method.

The Art Of Wheelbuilding: A Bench Reference For Neophytes, Pros & Wheelaholics
Wheelbuilding is the process of assembling wire wheels generally a bicycle wheel , but including wheelchairs , and some cars. The components of a wire wheel are the rim , spokes , nipples , and hub. The wheel also needs to be properly dished if applicable the left and right sides of the rear wheel differ, the drive-side spokes requiring higher tension. Spokes should have no residual twist windup from tightening the nipples.
